Friday night out with some of my closest friends

My friends, Eric and Minnie and I, decided to have dinner tonight since we have not been able to get in touch with each other lately. Eric has been my friend since my days at the Supreme Court, while Minnie and I have known each other since college days at the Ateneo. I miss them so much and I was really looking forward to having dinner with them.

Predictably, since I would be the last one who could get off work, we decided to eat somewhere near my office. So, we decided on the old reliable Amici (ah-MEE-chi) di Don Bosco located at the Don Bosco School along A. Arnaiz Ave., Makati City. They serve excellent Italian cuisine at affordable prices. Jojo tagged along since I had always been convincing him to eat at Amici. I always teased him that I discovered Amici first even if he was the alumni of Don Bosco High School.

This is what we had:

Spaghetti with the house specialty - Don Bosco sauce
(tomato sauce with hams and mushrooms)

Penne Arrabiata (believe me this is really hot)Spaghetti Carbonara
(since we already ordered 2 pastas with tomato-based sauces)

Tutta Carne Pizza (all meat toppings)

How did we eat all of these? By sharing, of course! The best way to eat since we could each have a taste of everything. It was a wonderful evening. Good food, good friends. :-)

Good food shared with good friends taste even more delicious.

I love the food on your table! Judging by the way it looks, Arrabiata looks hot indeed.

I'm partial with pasta and a combination or all of the following: mushroom, olives, seafood, some herbs and fresh tomato as sauce (not canned). Italian food is another weakness.

By the way, I'm waiting for your next recipe. :)

I've read of that Italian resto in another blog, the blogger had been praising the food and service of the place. Wish I had the time to check out that joint...

Have a great weekend, ladybug.

Everything definitely looks delectable ... Mama mia!

I've been craving for liguine with white clam sauce (not the thick creamy one). Would you know of any Italian restaurant in Metro Manila that serves it?

Thanks!

I'll take the spaghetti and the pizza. :)

ipanema> I also love fresh tomato sauce. :-) Teka, teka, napre-pressure yata akong mag-isip ng bagong recipe...hahaha. Tingan natin...

yunrui> Thanks for dropping by my blog too! :-) I also play badminton for fun. Hope you have an enjoyable weekend!

snglguy> You should try it sometime. Excellent Italian cuisine at a reasonable price. Have a great weekend too....despite not having cable in your floor.

eric> Hmmm, not really sure though since I haven't tried their clam sauce but you might want to try Mezza Luna. They have a branch along Salcedo St., Salcedo Village, Makati City. They're open for lunch and dinner. Don't make the mistake of going there during merienda time because they're closed. Cozy atmosphere, excellent cuisine and service. But it's a bit more expensive than Amici. The price of pasta at Amici starts at 130, while the pasta at Mezza Luna starts at 180.

I really want to try the food in Amici. Dami na akong good reviews na nababasa. And one of the best sellers pala dyan ay iyong Gelato nila.

It's always nice to have your good friends around. Bigla ko tuloy namiss ang mga friend ko, maybe this month lalabas kami.

lani> Kinabahan yata ako dun ah...nagkaroon ako ng anonymous reader...hahaha. Yes, mabenta talaga gelato nila. It's 35 pesos. I discovered, too late na, meron palang paninotecca sa loob. Next time naman try ko yung panini ng amici. I-re-report ko rin dito yun. :-)
