End of summer and holdapan blues...

The reason for my long absence??? I've been trying to enjoy the last remaining weeks of my maternity leave, taking care of things that need to be taken care of, before I go back to work and before my husband and I could even think of conceiving another baby.

First off, I had to have my impacted molar removed. Ouucchhh...that was really such a painful experience. What does it have to do with getting pregnant again? Well...nothing really, except that I read in the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting" under the section "Preparing for the Next Baby," the authors advised women to go see their dentist and have any necessary work, including X-rays, fillings and dental surgery completed so that it won't have to be done during pregnancy. Believe me, the pain was unbelieveable even after the surgery and I could not imagine having survived it without painkillers afterwards. Remember when I had to have my dermoid cyst removed???

I was also busy helping my husband arrange a mini-badminton tournament for all of his students at the Kimoni Badminton Academy. Kimoni Badminton Academy was estalished by Kimon Philippines in order to give high-quality badminton lessons in their headquarters in Sta. Mesa Heights, QC. They have tapped the services of former national players to teach its clientele the rudiments in badminton. The mini-tournament was a lot of fun since beginners were given a chance to experience how joining a tournament feels like.

Jojo Mance (in the middle) with the rest of the participants

Unfortunately, the day was not without its hitch. A couple who joined the tournament arrived late. Apparently, they had lunch in this small restaurant along Kamagong St. in Makati which was held up by 2 armed men aboard a motorcycle. The customers were told at gunpoint to give these 2 armed men their wallets and cellphones. The cashier (of the restaurant) was left unharmed. Tsk tsk tsk...to think that this restaurant is just near the Makati Police Station. According to eyewitnesses, this restaurant was already held up twice already in the past. Unbelievable.

So, beware when eating out in restaurants. Me? I prefer to dine inside malls or established restaurants where there is sufficient security.

Oh, so that's what you've been up to these past couple of weeks. Glad to have you back, ladybug. Buti pala napadaan ako this morning... :-)

These are dangerous times it seems. No one is safe from these robbers anymore, and to think malapit pa sa police station yung resto. I smell something fishy...

Ah, that explains your long absence in the blogging world.

Welcome back Ladybug!

Kamusta?

[:

The world is no longer safe and yes, like you I have always preferred to dine in malls where there are extra security.

snglguy> Yes, in short, tinatamad lang yata akong mag-post...hahahaha. Anyway, something fishy talaga, plus the fact na hindi nila kinukuhaan yung resto. Kasabwat kaya????

kyels> Thanks! I agree, the world is no longer safe. I also like dining out in malls, much safer that way. :-)

Looks like uso na naman ang hold-up. Nakakapagtaka kasi dati, before election pero ngayon halos everyday laman ng news ang mga ganitong incidents.

Hindi kaya dahil enrollment ngayon?

Happy weekend.

Naku, Ladybug, you are soooo right about impacted molars being removed. And each time I remember the pain, I get sweaty palms. I'm such a coward when it comes to dentists especially after having that impacted tooth extracted. Lalong naging duwag!

How sad about small restos getting held up. I like small restos because of the feel-like-home ambience and usually the recipes are not so commercialized but with the recent spate of holdups, ayoko na rin.

I hope something can be done.

Congrats to you and hubby for the tournament!

Impacted molar tooth? Sobrang sakit every single nerve in your body felt it. When I was pregnant I had a bad toothache although my OB gave me a go signal to the dentist, I refused. I chose to endure the pain than take any chances.

Kawawa naman ang restaurant and to think na malapit lang pala ang police station? At kakatakot din kumain baka mawalan na ng mga customers yun.

I had an impacted Molar (wisdom tooth) surgery and I was put to sleep and another 3 days of tylenol 3 before I can even say cheeeese.

The scary things about these hold uppers, sooner, some innocent bystander might get hurt if the guns start shooting.

Nice to see you back, ladybug and the summer not even started for us yet. Sometimes, it gets cold in the early morning, but daytime now is almost summery.

And we do have another shooting again today, in the same, troubled neighborhoods, and the victims are now approaching the 30 mark in the city of 3 millions and the summer is not even here yet. Yes it is dangerous, anywhere....

Kimoni Badminton Academy is in my neighborhood? I never knew about this.

I haven't played any badminton this summer :(

Ouch! That's really painful! Well, am happy you're doing it now. Yes, all precautions.

We have a badminton academy now? That's good!

I'll follow your advice. Gosh, eating should be enjoyed. Pero pag ganitong may hold-up, I don't think I can eat.

Glad you're back. :)

If the restaurant has already been held up twice, shouldn't they have taken steps to make the place more secure?

And about that dental thingy and pregnancy. I also think that the baby takes away calcium from the mother while they're still in your womb. That's why pregnant ladies are encouraged to drink plenty of milk while pregnant. My sister has 7 children, and yes, she's had a lot of dental work done on her.

myepinoy> Hay nako, tama ka diyan. Baka nga lang dahil enrollment. Grabe, kakainis talaga tong mga ito.

bugsybee> Korek ka diyan! Grabe talaga ang sakit. Pinagalitan nga ako ng dentist kasi dapat dati pa binunot yung impacted molar ko sa right side, after mabunot yung sa left side 4 years ago. Nasisiraan ba siya??? Hahahaa...I will avoid it if I can. Kaso lang nga unavoidable eh.

momoftwo> Yes, talagang every single nerve in my body felt it, especially since there was bone reduction. Arrggghhh...parang nasasaktan ako just remembering it. Binawasan ng buto kasi nakadikit na siya sa isa pang buto.

Anyway, about the restaurant, my husband passed by it the other day at may naka-park pang luxury car outside. Mukhang rich ang clientele kahit simple lang ang ambience. The food must be nice. But I don't want to try it out now.

vic> Another shooting? This world is not safe anymore. Kahit saan na lang merong ganyan. Ingat ka na lang parati. :-D

eric> So you live near the area? Sayang nga. Anyway, mukha namang busy ka with your other hobby, photography, kaya ok lang. You bring enjoyment to the readers of your blog.

ipanema> Yes, but the badminton academy does not have that many students. Sad nga eh. Many players prefer to hire "bara-bara" trainers who don't really teach the proper steps in badminton. Namamahalan sila when they hire professionals. Oh well...

niceheart> Tama ka, kaya nga nakakaduda eh. It's either kasabwat sila or wala lang talaga silang pakialam. Kung may powers lang ako eh ipasasara ko na lang yun. Nakakaduda talaga.
