Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next.
Amen.

--Reinhold Niebuhr
This is my mantra nowadays. Life seems so unfair. I feel so helpless. But when I feel depression coming, I just count my blessings. What more can I ask for? I have a very loving husband and we're expecting a baby who doesn't deserve to be stressed. Please Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Have a peaceful weekend everyone.

Changes can be made in life but it depends on the issue that we're trying to change as not everything can go through changes. I do feel the way you do sometimes and I pray hard to the Lord so that I'll not be bothered with certain issues.

HUGS!

Have a happy Sunday ate!

(:

kyels> Thanks. I cannot change other people's impressions, but I can change my reaction towards them and how I deal with them. *hugs!* Have a happy Sunday too!

rudy> Yes, I've decided that I won't be affected by all the stress. I set my priorities straight and as long as my family is ok, then I'm ok. Maybe when all of this is over, I can blog about it. But as of now, I still can't.

Ladybug, that's one of my favorite prayers too and life is such that I have to pray it often.

The Proponents of The Law of Attractions say that when your thoughts are going negative, just ask yourself this question: WHAT DO YOU WANT?

I guess, in all probability, the answer would be a positive.

It is different though for a person who really wanted to die but can't die. LOL

Came upon your site looking for Korean Beef Stew! Hope this prayer will help me. I'm a lawyer, too and I have to kind of sort my life nowadays since my principles and notions of what is life are constantly challenged by the harsh realities of our society.

Hope you are ok...Thanks for posting the serenity prayer.

Thanks. I cannot change other people's impressions, but I can change my reaction towards them and how I deal with them. <-- I agree with this. You can't really change other people's impressions and including their feelings and the way they foresee life. Let us just respect each of us. :)

yes..i believe that it's in one's perspective to see life as it is..one may opt to thank God for the blessings he has received or he may continue grumbling along life's disappointments..may we continue to count on God's blessings as we go on living our lives..God Bless!
