One book that...

I got tagged by Senor Enrique…and it’s all about books. :-)

It took me awhile to finish the meme, but here it goes…

One book that changed your life. "The Five Love Languages" by Gary Chapman. It has revolutionized the way I interact with my husband.

One book that I read more than once. “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen. I’ve read it about 5 times and I plan to read it over and over again. I consider her a feminist during her era.

One book you would want on a desert island. Hmmm…I’m not sure but I think I would want to read a book about the paranormal, about ESP. I think I would want to muster all of my paranormal powers to ask for help if I get stuck on a desert island.

One book that made you laugh. "Bridget Jones Diary" by Helen Fielding.

One book that made you cry. "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee.

One book that you wish had been written. Hmmm… "How to Win the Lottery"?

One book that you wish had never been written. I don’t know…probably "Guerilla Warfare "by Che Guevara? But I really haven’t read it myself so I really can't say.

One book you are currently reading. “1421. The Year China Discovered America” by Gavin Menzies. I’ve been reading it for quite some time already. Aarrggghhh….. nakakaiyak na sa haba. Maybe I should put this under the category “Books that made me cry.” Hahaha.

One book you have been meaning to read. “One Hundred Years of Solitude” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

Now, I have to tag 5 people to do this meme. So, I’m tagging the following people:

(1) Toe – kurokuroatbp
(2) Snglguy – Inside the Mind of a Single Guy
(3) Dinna – Pinay New Yorker
(4) Kat - yet another corner in a maiden's life's downtown
(5) Jairam - Insomniac's Mind

Happy reading!

Hmm, it's been quite a while since I've actually finished a book in one sitting. My eyes give up on me easily these days. Actually, I still have yet to finish half of 'The Messianic Lagacy', hehe. But ok, I'll do this meme along with another meme I was tagged with, anytime this week. :-)

snglguy> Thanks! You don't have to finish it right away. Please take your time. No rush. ;-)

Thank you for being a sport, Ladybug! But wasn't it fun?

Great list you have and quite some witty answers, too!

I saw a used copy of 1421 at this sale book stall I go to; put it down to buy on my way back, but was gone when I returned. Is it a tedious read?

Pride and Prejusice -- I saw the movie and loved it! I'm sure the book is much better, huh?

Many thanks again and hope those you tagged will have fun with this meme also :)

I gave up reading Pride and Prejudice after the first 2 chapters. I couldn't keep up with the many characters. I enjoyed the BBC film though, the one that starred Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy.

kat> Yes, that's right. And don't forget the most important thing -- enjoy! :-)

eric> Thanks! The pleasure was all mine. I'm glad you liked my entries.

Regarding 1421, it's actually an enjoyable read for the first hundred pages. If you're a history buff (which I think you are), you'll probably enjoy it. I just have trouble finishing it with all of the deadlines in the office. And when I do have some free time, I turn to my new hobby...blogging. Hahaha...but I made a promise to myself that I'll finish it this month.

Regarding Pride and Prejudice, yes, the book is definitely better than the movie. But I liked the movie's cinematography though.

niceheart> Hi! Thanks for dropping by. :-) I heard about the BBC version. My friend who's a bookworm and who loved the book also loved the BBC version. This reminds me...she promised that she'll lend me her VCD. Better call her up... Again, thanks!

Ah! I missed reading books. I still have plenty of unread Grishams.

"Pride and Prejudice" is a nice read.

I read last month the preface to a Doestovsky book, but until now, I haven't read Chapter 1.

Hi lazarus! Thanks for dropping by. I hope you continue to enjoy playing badminton. It pleases me no end when I find blogs with posts about playing badminton. Gives me an insight on what makes the game enjoyable to them. :-)

Meme is done, ladybug. I'll be posting it tomorrow

Hi! I see you've already done your homework. I've been tagged too but I'm having difficulty recalling the titles (old age!). I've attempted to finish reading One Hundred Years of Solitude but I can never get past halfway, ha ha! Guess I need 100 years of solitude to finish it. :)

Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" was one of the books I enjoyed which encouraged me to buy a book containing all her novels. Her "Sense and Sensibility" was also good. Have fun reading!

I picked up my Dostoevsky again last night, and noticed that I misspelled the name in my first posted comment. he he he

Don't worry ladybug. I'll continue to enjoy playing badminton.

snglguy> thanks! I read it already. You've got a great list there...

bugsybee> haha...actually, I tried reading it before but I got confused with all the different characters and their family tree. I put it on the shelf for a while. I plan on finishing it at least by the end of the year.

abaniko> Yup! I absolutely love Jane Austen. I have a complete set, but I love Pride and Prejudice the most. Women were expected to be subservient during her era, but the heroines in her novels are all strong and self-sufficient. Women power!

lazarus> haha...I did not notice the misspelling because I don't know how to spell his name correctly. Thanks again!
