Happy Mother's Day 2007

Get Cool MySpace Comments

I would like to greet my mom and my sister a Happy Mother's Day, as well as all the mothers out there who happen to read this blog.

While everybody is celebrating Mother's Day today, I am just observing from the sidelines with an ache in my heart. I was truly happy when one of my nieces greeted me Happy Mother's Day during lunch today, a fellow blogger Major Tom greeted me in his blog, and another blogger Meily left a Mother's Day greeting in my previous post. Aside from my husband, who understands and also happens to share the pain that I feel, I did not expect anyone to greet me a Happy Mother's Day.

In fact, there are times when I forget that I am a mother also, because of the fact that I have no baby to hug, to feed or to take care of. But no one can erase the fact that I am still a mother to Raphael Roque, even though he's already in heaven right now. He means the world to me and I try to honor his memory as much as possible. While he may not be with me now physically, he will always be with me for I always carry him in my heart. I am still his mother after all.

My own mom passed away 15 years ago, and today along with my baby sister, (the only one mother among my 5 sisters) and my three nieces, I wish them all a Happy mother's day and to you too Ladybug, a mother to an angel, a Happy Mother's Day. And to all mothers and moms and nanays.

My mother used to tell me that being a mother was one of the best thing that can ever happen to a woman... For giving birth is a miracle, and watching a child grow is living that miracle each day.

You are a mother, and though that might be short-lived, no one ca nchanged that you are, and nobody in the world can take that away from you.

Happy mothers' day, Mama!

I feel sad for you but I'm glad that you wrote this entry. I did my blog rounds last Saturday and greeted the mom bloggers. You were actually the first one I remembered but I avoided visiting your blog because I didn't know if I should greet you too. I know you are still a mom after all, as you said, but I didn't know if you want to be greeted at all. If you just want to be left alone, you know.

But now reading this, I know what you feel. So it's better late than never. Belated happy mother's day, ladybug. :)

A belated Happy Mom's Day to you, Ladybug. Yes, you are still a Mom, and nothing can erase that fact. Even with the absence of baby Raphael... :-)

dear ladybug,

i just want to say happy mother's day too :)) i drop by your blog every now and then to have some good badminton reads (since i'm a sport journalist myself..) so to me, you've always been a mother feeding me with good reads this way :))

i think the greatest gift God has given to every mother, is the ability to love unconditionally (like my mum) just as our Father did, but in today's society, many mothers have relinquished that, sadly.

reading about the news of Raphael, i know that the Lord is going to make you one of the world's greatest mum ever, for your capacity to love unconditionally has shone through, how blessed will your other (future!) kids be! and i say with confidence that God is preparing you for something extraordinary, take heart :)

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28

be blessed!

rey> Thank you very much. While I was not given a chance to change his diapers nor to breastfeed him, I still try to be a mother by honoring him and by including him in my prayers. Writing about him in my blog is also therapeutic for me.

niceheart> Thank you very much for remembering me and thinking of me. Don't worry...I love talking about Raphael and remembering him. As I've mentioned in my previous post, while his name brings tears to my names, it is still music to my ears.

I see you had a nice time last Sunday. Belated happy mother's day also. :-D

snglyguy> Thank you very much. He'll always be present in my heart. Even had a small butterfly visitor in our room tonight. I believe that it is Raphael visiting his mom and dad. :-D

jan> Thank you for visiting my blog and for the very nice message. I was really touched. My husband and I still hope and pray to have more kids soon, although our future kids can never really replace Raphael. Each child is unique and will always have a special place in their parents' hearts.

I'm sorry I haven't been updating recently, esp. about badminton. I hope you find my posts about badminton useful. God bless.

Happy Mother's Day to you, Ladybug. Even when he was still in your womb, you were already a nurturing mother. While your baby went away too early, you will still have a chance to become a mother to more children soon. Be patient. Cheers!

Belated Happy Mothers' Day, Ladybug!

You know - when I was about to greet mommy bloggers on that day, you were the first who came to my mind. But somehow, I got afraid I might touch something very sensitive, and I wasn't sure you would want to be greeted either.

Now I know, and I shouldn't have hesitated! Hugs, Ladybug! :)

I think every day should be Mother's Day - that's how special all mothers are and yes, I agree with you, even if you and Raphael are no longer physically together, you're still his mom so Happy Mother's Day to you everyday, Ladybug.

My mom died 40 years ago and crazy as it might sound, when she passes my thoughts, I sometimes still say "Happy mother's day" to her even when it's not Mother's Day.

I am a mother of a 20 year old and yet never have I felt deserving of being his mother.

To endure what you have endured is beyond my ability. One I'm not sure I could endure.

May you receive all that you have given, and lost, this Mother's Day 2008, and all Mother's Days to come.

Happy Mother's Day!
